Snow is rare, at most a few centimeters per year. Events such as the snow disaster in 1978 are a rarity. In early February 2009 it was the worst snow chaos for 18 years, as more than 15 centimeters of new snow fell. Are not uncommon, however weather inversion. One of them led to a great 1952 smog disaster.
The existence of a pre-Roman Celtic settlement in the area of the City of London could not be detected. Probably in the year 47 AD, the Romans founded the city of Londinium. In the year 410 AD The Romans were the legions and the people were the raids of Germanic tribes increasingly at the mercy defenseless. After the conquest of England by the Angles and Saxons Londinium fell by the end of the 5th Century to a cluster of uninhabited ruins.
