Our Bus
Company London firm has been around since 1988. Here's
some interesting info below about London Buses History.
Although the Routemaster has now been for the most part phased out of
service, together with solitary two tradition routes still using the
vehicles, the majority of buses in London are still red and therefore
the red bus remains an iconic symbol of the city. However in 1969 the
green country services, exterior the spot of the Greater London Council,
adopted the name London Country, and were transferred, together along
with Green Line Coaches, to a separate company, London Country Bus
Services, which in 1970 became fraction of the National Bus Company.
Because then, buses built for London's local amenities have all been
variants of models built for general use elsewhere, even if bus
manufacturers would routinely give a London specification to meet
specific London requirements. In the 2008 London mayoral election
campaign, prospective mayor Boris Johnson made a few commitments to
variation the London Buses motor vehicle policy, namely to introduce a
modern Routemaster, and remove the bendy buses.
Together with the introduction of the London congestion outlay in
innermost London and because at crest era the Underground is operating
at maximum capacity, countless bus service improvements have been
undertaken, and innermost bus services are currently enjoying something
of a resurgence. London Buses services that cross the boundary have
standard red buses, and outlay London fares, at least within the
boundary.
The two routes are legacy route 9 from the Royal Albert Hall to Aldwych,
and birthright route 15 from Trafalgar Square to Tower Hill. For the
most part of these services allow passengers to embark and get there at
any of the company's stops, continuing their journey on a later bus.
Good examples of this are the Green Line services to the Home Counties,
on the whole operated by Arriva, the service to the town of Oxford,
where Stagecoach's frequent Oxford Tube service competes together with
Go-Ahead's similar Oxford Express service, and the many commuter services
to medium-distance locations operated by individual coach companies
during climax times. With the Oyster card pay as you depart (formerly
Pre Pay) users are charged a set quantity for lone journeys, even if
there is a daily cap, which limits the maximum amount of money that will
be deducted from the balance on a Pay as you travel Oyster card
regardless of how many buses are taken that day (from 4am the next day).
